A Snapshot in Time
In early summer, as part of the continuing support for non-profits, the Winona Community Foundation held a workshop and networking session for community non-profits. Allowing such time is important in keeping non-profits abreast of various community needs and fosters cooperation towards the reduction of service duplications. We had an impressive attendance with some new faces being represented.
As part of WCF’s mission, assisting non-profits as they work towards effective service delivery and organizational growth is one way we can help give of our expertise. Recently, WCF staff helped the Down & Dirty Bike Club as they formally applied for their charitable status from the IRS. The Down and Dirty Bike Club is not new to Winona. They have given bikes to many children and adults, taught them how to maintain them, as well as collaborated with other community agencies in the promotion of healthy transportation options over the past many years. Every venture starts with a great idea and small steps and it is WCF’s goal to help foster such endeavors for the good of our community.
