Celebrity Night Benefits Winona Area
Celebrity Night 2008 is now history, but the benefit to the Winona community and area is only beginning. Sincere appreciation goes to the many volunteers who made the evening a huge success, raising over $20,000 for charitable giving such as the Youth In Philathropy program. Guests at Celebrity Night 2008 not only enjoyed an evening of fine dinning and superb entertainment, but they were able to hear Luke Merchelwitz speak on the benefit and impact of one of the Youth in Philanthropy donations to the children in his classroom. Dr. Bill Murphy accepted recognition from President Lisa Fakler of a donation to WSU students under the direction of Professor Ready for the Strategic Management project they completed for the WCF. They students will select a non-profit(s) of their choice to receive the donation. These are only two examples of the many non-profit recipients who will benefit from proceeds of the event and other donations throughout the year to the WCF General Fund.
