Five Winona State University students from the College of Business recently worked under the direction of Dr. Kathy Ready in a strategic management class to prepare an external organization analysis for the Winona Community Foundation. The students presented a stellar report complete with recommendations for the necessary refinement to inform the area of the purpose of the Foundation. The report is the beginning of the preparation of WCF to map out priorities and plans, revise vision and mission for the future to reflect in a positive and professional direction how WCF will meet the evolving needs of the area. In appreciation for the excellent work by these students and in the spirit of the Youth In Philanthropy program, the WCF Board voted to give $1,000 to the students and allow them the opportunity to decide how to best grant to a local charity or charities. Their decision will be made by May 27.
