Winona Nordic Ski club
Races finally get under way in spite of the warm temperatures! 100 kids raced January 7th at Saint Mary's University, for the first time ever on 100% man made snow. The race consisted of a relay on the 600 Meter course, which meant kids had to navigate the loop 6 times. Kids racing were varsity and junior varsity competitors.

With no snow and warmer temperatures January brings a lot of work:

Dedication and the great love of the sport brings out many helping hands. After 3 long days and nights, making snow, moving it about and even getting the big CAT stuck in the snow, tracks were finally laid and the fun began. No small task in the Spring like temperatures. In the morning a great classic was skied and 2 1/2 hours later 100 kids came to try out cross country skiing.
